Modern methods of construction
Over the last decade the construction industry has made a quantum move from reliance on traditional on-site methods that are inherently less productive, inefficient and variable on quality, time and cost towards a more efficient construction practices.
The demand for greener and more sustainable buildings requires properties to be designed, built and operated to exacting lifetime in-use performance criteria has lead to the development and implementation of Modern methods of construction (MMC).
MMC is the term used to embrace a range of technologies and factory processes involving prefabrication and off-site assembly, and is a key factor in delivering the sustainable construction agenda. It is a means of vastly enhancing on-site safety, delivering quality and cost certainty, on-time project completion and earlier client handover.
The use of MMC makes much more effective use of materials, transportation, on-site resources and results in zero on-site waste.
Kingspan are a recognised leading exponent of MMC disciplines, and this is evident across all the Group's businesses from product concept, through manufacture, to transportation and site assembly.
